GESTURAL STUDIES

Keely’s most recent body of work has been strongly influenced by the multifaceted landscapes she is now immersed in after relocating to the coast. Each piece is a reflection of these new vistas, operating in a liminal space between experience, memory, and emotion. The result is work that is more than a literal view of nature; it showcases the huge range of internal emotion and external experiences we have when perceiving the wider natural world. Painting with just her hands, this technique has allowed her to connect physically with the painting, letting each hand movement act as a conduit for transferring her energy evoked by the landscape, onto the paper.
